The 2021-22 UMass Dartmouth Marine Energy Collegiate Competition (MECC) team will focus on the next chapter of the Maximal Asymmetric Drag Wave Energy Convertor (MADWEC) system to harness the renewal energy generated at sea to power underwater vehicles. To realize our vision to deploy a network of MADWEC enabled stations along the coast to provide a network of charging stations for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) requires further research into how the vehicles are charged today and how they will be charged in the future.
